Transparency and understanding are important to our business because we value our students and clients. Our terms and conditions are designed to provide our students with professional courses which will enhance their skillsets and opportunity for career development, whilst meeting or even exceeding the standards required by the examining organisations, whether Bwssc or IAO.

Terms & Conditions of the PRESTA ACADEMY OF BEAUTY AND SKILLS

1. Participation in demo/theory classes:

( a ) The student agrees to participate in demo/theory classes according to the established schedule and training plan.

( b ) The student is responsible for timely and regular attendance in demo classes.

( c ) A considerable amount of work is involved in organising demo classes including both sourcing models and the tutors’ time. If the student ‘no-shows’ or cancels their designated demo class giving less than 48 hours’ notice, then an additional charge of not less than Rs.100 will be incurred by the student as a fine.

The student should not wear any jewellery during demo classes.

2.Maintaining hygiene protocols and sterile conditions:

( a ) The student is required to adhere to all hygiene protocols and sterile conditions that apply in the training academy.

( b ) The student must maintain cleanliness and ensure sterile conditions while performing practical training with clients.

3.Personal appearance:

( a ) The student must have clean and pressed uniforms, which are required in the training academy.

( b ) The student must maintain short and neat nails and tie back their hair to avoid any hygiene or safety risks.

( c ) The student should not wear any jewellery during practical classes.

4.Interacting with clients:

( a ) The student is obligated to treat clients professionally and courteously while performing practical training.

( b ) The student must adhere to ethical principles and maintain client confidentiality.

5.Interacting with clients:

( a ) The student is responsible for their own safety and the safety of the client while performing practical training.

( b ) The student must follow all safety recommendations provided by instructors and staff of the training academy.

6.Financial settlement:

( a ) The student commits to timely payment of training fees on or before  10th of every month. Classes can be interrupted for non-payments or delayed payments

7.Final Certificates:

( a ) On achieving a pass grade on your chosen course, completing the homework assignments and paying any final balance of course fees (as point 6), you will be presented in person with a signed certificate at the Academy. Arrangements to post / courier the Certificate can be made (at the student’s expense) but we do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage. 

8.Resignation, non-completion and cancellation:

( a ) If the student chooses to withdraw from the training course, the full course fees are non-refundable.

( b ) The training academy reserves the right to postpone or cancel demo classes in case of unforeseen circumstances or insufficient number of participants.

( c ) If a student misses a scheduled practical training day or exam date, we will try to offer alternative dates. But in case BWSSC or any other third party is doing the examination, postponing or scheduling will be chargeable as per vendor or agency guidelines

( d ) Pursuit to the above, whilst we are very understanding over unforeseen circumstances, the offer of moving the course schedule is possible for any genuine reasons. We will only charge for content, not for the duration, so course extension or delay will not be charged.

9.Uniform Code

– Hair: Tied in a bun at the bottom

– Nails: Short and without polish

– Shoes: Flat casual shoes

– Uniform: Full tunic and trousers ( you may change out of your travelling clothes at the academy)

Preparedness for Theory:
Familiarity with consultation, vocabulary, procedure, aftercare and prevention of contraindications and restrictions

Homework, Tests & Exam
All homework submission required before the start of practical classes & exam

Theory Tests: Are conducted on completion of alternate topics.

Change of course

Courses are non-transferable and non-refundable. Should you book the incorrect course for your needs or make an error with your booking, we will honour a change to a different course, subject to an admin fee of 5000 per course / day required to be changed. No course price difference will be refunded, where applicable. Any additional course fee due will need to be paid at time of the course change.

Age requirements

Classroom courses are open to those aged 16 years or over. Online courses are open to all with no age requirements.

Arrival for courses

Training classes start at 10.00am and last class timings are at approximately 4.00pm (unless otherwise if you are carried with some task./practical and busy with client. Please arrive at the centre for 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. A short break is given for lunch (please bring food with you). Late arrival on the day or returning from lunch may result in refused course entry. This avoids disruption for other learners and ensures you cover all necessary course content to achieve your course diploma.

Classroom training – Practical during training

During your training you will usually be required to give and receive treatments.

The only exceptions to this are the nail extension courses where you will be working on a professional nail trainer hand, and lash extension courses where you will be working on a professional mannequin training head.

Please note courses may be mixed sex groups. We have portable privacy screens at our centres for use when students are changing between treatments to ensure your comfort. Male students are required to provide a female model for waxing courses. If you have personal or religious reasons where you require training in a same sex environment only, please contact us to discuss this prior to booking.

Waxing Courses

You must be prepared to give and receive waxing treatments to allow all students equal opportunity to practice. Those attending having recently undertaken shaving of areas to be worked on or who are unwilling to receive treatment (but not medically exempt), will not be able to participate resulting in loss of course fee. Male students must provide a suitable female model to practice upon due to the physical nature of these treatments.

Manicure & Pedicure, Gel Polish & Builder Gel in a Bottle Courses

Please ensure any nail extensions or enhancements such as gel polish are removed prior to attending training, as you will give and receive treatments working on the natural nails. Failure to remove such before the training day may result in being unable to participate within the course and a rescheduling fee being applicable.

Highly Defined Brows, Brow Shaping & Tinting, Brow Lamination and Lash Lift Courses

Prior to training for this course you will be required to complete a patch test for the products used in these treatments at least 24 hours before your course commences. A patch test will be sent to your home address prior to the course to allow you to patch test. Please also bring these products on the training day for your use. Those booking at last minute (too late for patch test), or who are sensitive to the patch test will use training products on the day which are safe and do not yield a treatment result, but allow practice of the treatment techniques.

Please ensure eyelash extensions have been removed prior to any training involving eyelash tinting or lash lift.

Lash Extension Courses

You will work on a professional training head so do not need to patch test with any products prior to the course, nor remove any eyelash extensions you may already have applied.

Facial Massage & Skincare, Electrical Facials & Microdermabrasion Courses

You will give and receive skincare treatments as part of these courses working paired with other students. You must ensure lash extensions are removed prior to the course(s). You will need to remove your make up (as applicable) as part of receiving treatments.

You must notify us of any medical conditions / medications which may prevent you receiving facial treatments. Those receiving certain treatments for acne (such as Roaccutane) or who have undergone cosmetic procedures to include surgery, dermal fillers of any kind or semi-permanent make-up / facial tattooing or micro-blading within the last 12 weeks will be unable to participate within these courses. Certain medical conditions such as heart conditions will affect ability to receive electrical facials. Failure to disclose these treatments prior to booking your course(s) may result in loss of course fees.

If taking Facials / Electrical Facials training with specific intention to progress to Level 4 Aesthetics, please note it is the responsibility of the learner to check with both their chosen further training provider and insurance company that this qualification meets their requirements.  We offer BWSSC courses at both Level 2 & 3 which may be more suitable for your needs. Please discuss with our team prior to booking if you have any questions or concerns.

Photography / recording of training

Photography / recording of training (both audio or video) is strictly prohibited while in attendance of our centres. This is to protect the privacy of all students, avoid disruption during training . Tutors may occasionally request permission to briefly take photos or short video clips of the course set up or student work for company marketing / promotional purposes. Simply let the tutor know if you’d like to opt out of this.

ATTENDANCE

  • The management shall fix a schedule for theory training / practical training / other related training and shall endeavor to adhere to the same. The management shall not be responsible for any change in schedule, postponement or cancellation of lectures or practical sessions, for reasons which are beyond their control.
  • Students are required to attend theory training / practical training / other related training on the days as scheduled.
  • Every student is expected to maintain a minimum of 90% attendance in both theory and practical sessions, to be eligible to work on projects, where applicable, and to appear for exams.
  • In case of absence from classes for 3 days or more, the same is to be discussed with the concerned faculty well in advance. A written application should be submitted to the Centre Head, and approval taken for it. In case of absence on account of sick leave of 3 days or more, a medical certificate shall be duly provided by the student to the Centre Head.
  • Your parent / guardian will be informed in case of irregularity in attendance. A Student Performance Report shall be sent to parents or guardians once every 2 months. Discrepancies in the report may be communicated to the concerned faculty within 2 weeks of receipt of the report.
  • Any student remaining absent for more than 10 days without notice in writing, will be considered as an Academic Dropout and needs to pay a fee of Rs. 500/- for re-joining the classes in the same batch.
  • If a student wishes to re-join, the decision for which will be at the discretion of the Centre Head, he/she may be asked to transfer to a subsequent batch, in the interest of continuity. The batch transfer fee of Rs. 500/- will be levied in addition to the above fee, if the student is seeking admission into a different batch.
  • Re-joining will only be permitted if there is no change in the curriculum. In case there is a change of curriculum, the student will have to take fresh admission.
  • Please note that any request for a course down grade will not be entertained.
  • Attendance is completely assessed through BIOMETRIC machine.

.PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE

  • Presta Beauty Academy offers placement assistance service to every student enrolled for all Careers Courses.
  • The Placement Assistance service is extended to the student for a period of one year, after the completion of the course.
  • Students must note that such assistance should not be construed as placement assurance or job guarantee.
  • Placements can be offered to a student anywhere in India, in any organization. Relocation expenses will be borne by the student.
  • A student is deemed ineligible for placement assistance in event of any of the following:
    • If a student does not attend the complete training program conducted by the academy
    • If the student has not paid complete course fees and is not certified
    • If a student does not show continuing and participative interest in the placement assistance process
    • If the student does not attend the interviews arranged by the Academy
    • If the student refuses to take up the placement opportunity provided, after having gone through the selection process
    • If the student wants to re-register for placement, he / she will have to submit a request letter for placement to the centre head.

IN CASE OF SELF PLACEMENT:

  • During the tenure of the course, if the student gets self-placed, he / she would have to sign an undertaking stating that he/ she will complete the course enrolled for and will pay the fee as per the installment schedule.
  • It is compulsory for the student to submit a placement testimonial within a week of self-placement.

STUDENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT

  • All students enrolled at any Lakmē Academy at any location, will comply with the Code of Conduct. In the event of noncompliance, Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech reserves the right to suspend/ expel any student or cancel the admission of the student. The student shall forfeit the amount paid by him/her towards the fee for the said course.
  • All students shall observe decorum while attending the course.
  • All students will abide by all the laws of the land and not be involved in any criminal, unlawful or immoral activity, either directly or indirectly.
  • All students will observe all the rules applicable in connection with the usage of the Centre infrastructure.
  • All academic and course material provided by the Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech is copyrighted and is for the exclusive use of the student only. The same cannot be transferred, assigned, or sold to any person.
  • All students of Indian origin will submit the attested copy of all educational certificates, proof of birth, permanent and current residence address at the time of admission at the Centre.
  • All students of foreign origin will submit attested copies of their Visa and Passport in addition to the documents mentioned in the point above.

 

Complaints

We are keen to ensure all students gain the most from their training experience.

In the first instance, please raise any difficulties or concerns with the tutor on the training day(s) as most issues can quickly be rectified at the time.

However, in the unlikely event your training course with us does not meet your expectations and you feel unable to raise this with the tutor on the training day, please email info@prestaskills.in with the details of your feedback or complaint. This email must be received in writing within 5 days of your training course.

We take all feedback and complaints very seriously and this will be investigated by our Regional Heads or Director on personal level. You will receive revert within 3 days of complaint.
